Jean Quatremer says that José Durao Barroso has been calling each and every MEP from the ALDE group (the liberals), the euroskeptics, as well as socialist MEPs from Spain, Portugal, and UK (where the socialist governments support his candidature).
He is trying to persuade the MEPs to support him for a second mandate as a President of the European Commission during the vote in the European Parliament, scheduled for July 15th.
