The Bulgarian President opposed to the clause raising the coalitions’ threshold from 4% to 8%. He used his quasi-veto powers, and returned the Elections Act to Parliament. However, the temporary Parliamentary Commission on election legislation officially proposed to the Parliament to support once again the amendments in the Election Act.
In another development NGOs have demanded that the EU should send independent observers for the National Parliament vote. They also demand to be allowed to participate in the deliberations of the Central Elections Committee.
